Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination.  We also believe that our geriatric patients can benefit from twice-yearly exams.  Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  With an ultrasound unit and a flexible microendoscope, many diseases can be diagnosed without invasive procedures.

Surgical Services:  Our well-equipped surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures.

Anesthesia:  We use the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Radiology Services:  Our digital x-ray equipment provides high quality radiograph images to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.  Digital radiographs can to be emailed to specialists for quick and easy consultation.  Radiographs can also be emailed to you at home or a disc sent with you for your viewing convenience.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include comprehensive oral exams before and during anesthesia, teeth cleaning and polishing, dental x-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.  With our high speed dental unit and digital dental radiography, we can provide state-of-the-art care for your pet's dental needs.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also work with commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.  We often try to send bloodwork to our external laboratory to help lower costs for our clients.

Permanent identification: We offer Home Again microchip identification.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of Hill's and Royal Canin prescription diets, as well as Oxbow Carnivore Care and Critical Care diets for ill or recovering ferrets, rabbits, and rodents.  If your pet has any special dietary needs, we are happy to special order products from our vendors for you.

Emergency Care
:
Please call our main telephone number (850) 243-5080 for instructions for after-hour emergencies.  Emergencies are referred to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Niceville or the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center in Pensacola.

Doggy Daycare:  Dogs who attend doggy daycare, in most cases, are transformed into a calmer and more easily controlled pet.  If your furry friend is getting into things at home (food, trash, furniture, personal items, etc.) he/she is probably sending signals of boredom.  Doggy daycare is a wonderful outlet for all the mischievous energy.  Large or small, your or old, all dogs are allowed to attend daycare.  Before placing your dog in with other dogs, we perform a temperament and behavioral assessment.  This is to ensure that your dog's play style and sociability are compatible with the rest of the playgroup(s).  Daycare is not for every dog so we do our very best to ensure the appropriate level of play is consistent with every dog's needs in order for them to feel confident and safe.  Because the health and safety of every one of our Canine Discovery Center dogs is of the utmost importance, we have medical requirements that all dogs must meet in order to come play for the day.  Each guest must be spayed/neutered as well as up to date on all shots.  Required vaccinations/tests for our facility are:  Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Influenza, Heartworm Test (-), and Intestinal Parasite Screen (-).
